I am finishing up the MA program in linguistics this year at the University of Montana and have loved every second of it. I grew up
speaking Spanish in the home from my Chilean mother and it made me question everything about language. Studying languages wasn't enough -
I wanted to know how language worked.

During my undergraduate studies at the University of Utah I became interested in documenting endangered languages. I worked with
languages in Mexico, Guatemala, and the Western United States through the Center for American Indian Languages. The fact that the majority
of the world's languages are predicted to die out within the next 100 years is devastating to me, and I want to do my part to reverse that.
I'm also interested in heritage speakers and their linguistic knowledge. Basically, get me started on language and I'll have a hard
time stopping.
