TRIBAL STATE CONFLICT OF LAW

Professor Melissa Tatum, The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law

Students in this course will be assigned to play the role of attorneys in a series of hypothetical cases designed to introduce them to jurisdictional rules as they apply to state and tribal governments. The course will begin with an introduction to the general principles of jurisdiction and a historical background, and will then explore the standards governing both the legislative and judicial jurisdiction of state and tribal governments.
