Why are we changing to an electronic application system?
Applicants will find the new UM Jobs to be much faster, more efficient and very user-friendly. The paperless application process will allow applicants to create a user-profile where they can apply for more jobs in less time. The new electronic UM Jobs will allow us to more efficiently track all activities related to the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process as well as remain compliant to all state, federal, and international employment laws.
When will this change go into effect?
Beginning April 4, 2011, applicants will submit all application materials electronically via the new UM Jobs.
How will this affect me as an applicant?
Along with the many benefits the new UM Jobs offers all users, applicants will find that this new electronic application system is much faster and more efficient. This process is now completely electronic so be sure to have electronic copies of your cover letter, resume, and three (3) professional references when you want to apply for a position.

If I do not have a computer, where can I go to apply?
If you do not have a computer or access to the internet, you are welcome to contact our office for assistance in finding a location to apply.
What do I need to bring with me to apply?
To apply for any position at The University of Montana’s, applicants are minimally required to submit electronic copies of a cover letter, resume, and a list of three (3) professional references for each position. Please be aware that there are some positions that require applicants to submit supplemental application materials. To be sure that you are submitting full and complete application materials, be sure to check the “How to Apply” section of the job posting.
Will all types of employees be recruited through this system?
Applicants for academic, professional, staff and temporary positions will submit application materials through the new UM Jobs. Student employees will need to visit Career Services for information regarding campus jobs.
Who hosts this system?
This system is supported through SilkRoad Technologies. If you would like more information on SilkRoad technologies, the new UM Jobs system they host or any of the other systems they offer, visit their website

Campus users can log into the new system at: UM JOBS
Your user name is your NetID. To retrieve your password enter your username (NetID) and click on “Forgot Password”. UM JOBS will email you your password.
All current postings have been moved to the new site. Departments with open positions and active recruitments can view their posting through the system.
TO VIEW CANDIDATE RESUMES
Click on the number under Resumes and you will be able to view all applicants for your posting.
