Project Summary
The goals of this project are to
determine the relative magnitudes, controls, and spatial and temporal
variation in trace gas fluxes (H20 and CO2)
over spatially heterogeneous agricultural land cover regions of
the Central Great Plains and Mid-West regions of the continental
USA. We are employing a multi-scale strategy of tower and airborne
eddy-flux measurements of surface-atmosphere trace gas fluxes, satellite
remote sensing of regional vegetation productivity and ecological
modeling of these processes from individual plot to regional scales.
The results of this study will provide new protocols linking measurements
and understanding of biophysical processes over variable spatial
and temporal scales and complex land cover.
