About Us
The Bitterroot College Program (BCP) offers University of Montana College of Technology (UM-COT) courses and UM general education courses in Hamilton, Montana. To enroll in BCP college courses, students must apply and register for classes as either UM-COT students or UM students.
The BCP also offers Continuing Education programming. BCP Continuing Education focuses on short-term workforce, business, and career development programming.
The BCP is guided by a 12-member Advisory Council—a public board which holds regular monthly meetings. The BCP is under the auspices of The University of Montana with all BCP college courses accredited via the UM.
The BCP was founded in the fall of 2009 by the BCP Steering Committee. The BCP Steering Committee was formed in the spring of 2009 at the recommendation of the Montana Board of Regents following the February 2009 Montana State Legislature's decision to not go forward with the establishment of a community college district in Ravalli County. The BCP Steering Committee transitioned to the BCP Advisory Council in January 2012 after the completion of a 5-year Strategic Plan which outlined a path forward for the delivery of college and continuing education programming for the residents of Ravalli County.
